Debbie Gabrione graduated from SUNY Albany with a BA in
psychology and by her early 20’s followed it up with a MS in
counseling from Pace University. She currently works for the
New York State Education Department, doing counseling (if
the music thing doesn’t work out, probably will for the rest
of her LIFE !!!!). Before getting into the “serious
professional” role, Debbie got started with music and
refuses to give it up. Having read an ad in the Metroland in
2000, she auditioned for a local rock cover band, "Social
Lube." After 2 years as a back up singer, the band members
went their own ways, and Debbie decided to team up with Mark
to put together an original project. "Lube" had given Deb a
taste of being on stage, and helped her come out of her
shell to say the least. This “original project” was
envisioned as being a popular rock band, playing the type of
songs that have energy, personality, and could be played on
both pop and rock radio stations. This “project” has become
known as Ten Year Vamp. Despite the fact that most (if not
all) rock bands are male fronted, with Debbie at the helm,
Ten Year Vamp has beaten them all being voted best rock band
in the capital region 2 years in a row, best place to see
and be seen, best kept secret, and Debbie holds the coveted
privilege of “local celebrity with whom you’d like to have a
one night stand with”. At the shows, Debbie focuses her
attention on singing and putting on a killer show, however,
behind-the-scenes, Debbie writes the lyrics, records and
plays all the instruments on her demo versions of new songs
for the band. Mark and Debbie co-manage the band, and are
responsible for booking, communication, PR and representing
10YV. |
